I'll overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" the American as the pair met personally to build hype for next month's bout.

Former twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

Despite those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead attacked former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters engaged in the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really proceeding.
