Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 vehicles have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Cars, exterior walls and postboxes were defaced, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Police say they were contacted late on Wednesday evening, when a man discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued substance.
The substance had been placed in the pattern of a banned symbol, they reported.
Police then found multiple other smeared automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are banned in Germany under laws prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement report initial examinations show the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no clue as to its origin; investigators are not yet aware of any injuries in relation with the occurrence," they stated.
City officials said they were working "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the public for information.
An important official commented the attack made him speechless and needed to be solved promptly.
"This incident affects the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on social media, mentioning the murder of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at residents of foreign heritage in 2020.
